CDP-G Annual Report 2025
CDP-G Annual Report 2025
The Center for Dialogue and Progress – Geneva (CDP-G) in 2025 continued its role as a strategic platform for dialogue, research, and advocacy focused on fragile and transitional societies. The organisation worked to promote inclusive governance, democratic values, and sustainable peace through coordinated engagement with civil society, policymakers, and international actors.
Throughout the year, CDP-G concentrated on advancing dialogue for peace and democracy, particularly in relation to Afghanistan. A major highlight was the organisation of the Fourth National Dialogue Conference in Antalya, which brought together diverse stakeholders to assess the political situation, explore constitutional frameworks, and strengthen collective strategies for democratic participation. The initiative reinforced the importance of inclusive dialogue as a key tool for addressing political and social crises.
In parallel, CDP-G expanded its international engagement by contributing to global discussions such as Geneva Peace Week 2025, where experts emphasised growing geopolitical risks and the urgent need to support democratic forces and inclusive peace processes. These efforts positioned the organisation as an active voice in shaping international perspectives on fragile states.
Research and policy development remained central to CDP-G’s work. The Constitutional Law Expert Group produced significant analysis on the state of constitutionalism and rule of law, highlighting institutional weaknesses, legal uncertainty, and widespread human rights challenges. This work provided evidence-based recommendations for future reforms and governance structures.
A key achievement in 2025 was strengthening civil society coordination through the establishment and operationalisation of the Afghanistan Civil and Democratic Forces Network (ACDFN). This network enhanced collaboration among Afghan actors in exile and enabled more effective advocacy at international levels.
Human rights advocacy also marked a major area of impact. CDP-G played a critical role in supporting accountability efforts, contributing to the establishment of the Independent Investigative Mechanism for Afghanistan (IIIM-A). The organisation further facilitated engagement between Afghan civil society and international human rights mechanisms, ensuring that the voices of victims, women, and activists were represented.
Looking ahead, CDP-G aims to build on its achievements by expanding dialogue initiatives, strengthening partnerships, and supporting democratic actors. The organisation remains committed to advancing human rights, promoting inclusive governance, and contributing to long-term peace and stability in fragile contexts.
